How do you win a bracket race? ›

The idea is to cross the finish line just ahead of the other car, (duh) without going faster than your stated time. (That's the tricky part.) Bottom line is if you have the other car beat by a whole bunch, back-off a little to make sure you don't go too fast and "break-out".

Bracket Racing Overview

Bracket racers are handicapped based on their own anticipated elapsed time - how long they think it will take them to reach the finish line, known as the Dial In time. In a side-by-side race, the slower car will leave the starting line first.
