- Marion Sanders, MPA, MSW Social Work is the only profession that intersects with every profession in the world. It's the only profession that makes room for you at every table. I am happy to be in DC at the 2024 National Association of Social Workers Conference amongst social workers from around the country leading social change. Social work is a profession and a extension of the life you live -not a job title. #NASW #socialworklife #socialjustice 18
- Melissa Wesner One of the things that I love about work in the mental health field is providers' commitment to life-long learning. Licensed counselors and social workers participate in supervision, consultation, and continued education, not only to obtain and maintain licensure but also because we want to better serve our clients! For the mental health providers in Maryland, I hope you'll enjoy this new blog article written by Sara Secada-Lovio. https://lnkd.in/eVTHibv4#maryland #lcpcs #lcsws #socialworkers #counselors #peerconsultation #caseconsultation #lifelonglearning 3 1 Comment

- Consumer Direct Care Network Consumer Direct Care Network (CDCN) helps seniors and people with disabilities live the lives they want in their homes and communities instead of in unfamiliar institutional settings. We provide support in 13 states across the country and are the largest self-directed service provider in the nation.Self-directed services put you in charge of your care. You can recruit, hire, train, schedule, and dismiss your care workers. We support your choices and decisions. Different care models change the level of responsibility and control you have. Here are the models, how they work, and where CDCN offers them:•Fiscal/Employer Agent (F/EA)– The F/EA model gives the greatest freedom and control but also the most responsibility. You fully manage and employ your care workers and decide how to spend your personal care budget. CDCN handles payroll tasks like withholding taxes and giving paychecks to your workers. We also help with training and managing your personal care budget. These services are available in Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Idaho, New Mexico, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and Wisconsin.•Agency With Choice (AWC)– In the AWC model, you are the managing employer and can manage your care workers, but your personal care budget is set based on the services you are allowed to receive. CDCN is your workers' official employer. We handle payroll tasks like withholding taxes and giving paychecks to your workers. These services are available in Alaska, Arizona, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, and Wisconsin.•Support Broker Services – CDCN offers Support Broker, Training, or Consultant services in several states where we operate. The support broker role, provided by many Medicaid waiver programs, helps people understand the available services, supports, and goods. Our services help people understand their roles in self-directed care. We are a resource people can call for help, focusing on customer-oriented service based on each person’s wants and needs. Our team can help with understanding paperwork, providing information on community services, and answering questions or concerns about being an employer of your direct care worker. Each state has its own programs and regulations. - Alexandria L. Social work practicums shouldn't be burdensome. The Mizzou School of Social Work now allows students working in social-service related jobs that meet the social work competencies to count their employment hours toward practicum. This change aligns with the 2022 Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) policy updates (giving schools of social work the ability to not require 'new learning' experiences), making it easier for our students to integrate their work experience with meeting the social work competencies.#SsocialWork #SocialWorkers #SocialWorkPracticum #SocialWorkEducation #Practicum #2022EPAS #CSWE 729 48 Comments
