The City of Scottsboro has one of the finest recreation facilities in the State of Alabama: The Scottsboro Recreation Complex known as the Rec*Com. It consists of two air conditioned gyms, an indoor walking track, an indoor pool with men and women’s locker and shower facilities, meeting rooms for various meetings, banquets, or seminars, and two racquetball courts. Activities offered at the center are basketball, swim team, swim lessons, Kids Klub, gymnastics, cheerleading, clogging, line dancing, etc. Located across from the Rec*Com are three outdoor basketball courts, a fenced playground area that includes swings and a modular playground system, picnic tables, and a skate park. There is also a splash park and pavilion with restrooms in this area. The entire Rec*Com is Handicapped Accessible except for the walking trail upstairs.
Rec*Com Information
The Rec*Com offers one regulation gym with a basketball court and spectator seating, or two auxiliary courts with a curtain divider and seating.
There are a total of six goals available, which are adjustable for youth play. A 1/16-mile indoor track is also located above the gym floor for those wishing to improve their cardiovascular conditions and maintain better health.
The gym may be rented for $60 for full court or $30 for half court per hour.
There is a 40×50 foot area Fitness Room featuring state of the art fitness equipment for a complete cardiovascular and strength workout.
Monthly rates for the fitness room are $5 daily, Individual $35/month, Couple $50/month, Family $60/month, Senior (59+) $20/month, Employees Free. Monthly fees are for Fitness Room only.

Family (limit 4) $362 (each additional family member $25.
Annual passes do not include admissions to league games or classes offered by the Rec*Com.
Ages 13-17 must be accompanied by and adult and those under age 12 are not allowed. Hours of operation for the fitness room are
Monday through Thursday 5:00 a.m.-9 p.m.
Friday 5:00 a.m.-6 p.m.
Saturday 8 a.m.-6 p.m
Sunday 1-5 p.m.
*Annual Rates include entire facility.
Proper attire is required:
Shoes: Tennis shoes only; no work shoes, work boots, or any open toed shoes are allowed in fitness room
Shirts must be worn at all times.
No underwear shirts of any kind allowed.
No work clothes or street clothes.
No cut offs or blue jeans.
No swimsuits.
*It is recommended that everyone bring his/her own towel to wipe off equipment after use.
This area adjacent to the gymnasium is readily equipped for various instructional programs. These programs include ballet, dance, gymnastics and cheerleading.
Adjacent to the lobby are meeting rooms that can be set up for banquets, seminars, or meetings. It can also be divided into sections to accommodate smaller groups.
Next to the meeting room is a kitchen area equipped for groups who wish to cater their functions.
Rates for one room are $20 per hour and up; two rooms $30 per hour and up; and multipurpose room for $30 per hour.
The Scottsboro Rec*Com has a 25-yard competition pool consisting of 8 lanes with depths of four to eight feet, this facility is equipped with ultra modern equipment for swim team competition. There is also adequate surrounding deck space for seating and relaxation.
The pool may be rented for $50.00 per hour for 50 people and below. $60.00 per hour for 51-75 people and $75.00 per hour for up to 100 people.
Regular Admission is $2 for adults, youth and seniors.
For Children 3 and under there is no charge to swim.
Swimming lessons are given during the summer months for $45 per week.
Two regulation racquetball courts with lock-type maple floor and safety glass backboard for spectator viewing are available. The courts may be used at a charge of $5 per person per hour or you may purchase a monthly pass for $25 per person. Call in advance to reserve courts.
The Scottsboro City Splash park opened on June 2nd, 2011. It’s right across from the cities Recreation Center. Public usage of the Splash Park is Free. There are two pavilions located at the park. Rental of the pavilions for private events is available. The cost is $30.00 per hour during the hours of 10:00 am – 6:00 pm. This is for rental of the pavilion only.
