Decent and upscale hotel right across the entrance to Petra. Rooms comfortable and up to a standard that you can expect from a Mövenpick Hotel. They have a rather small rooftop restaurant that has spectacular sunset views. Be sure to make a reservation ahead. The outside pool is a nice spot after a day hiking in Petra. Overall a very good place to stay in Petra.

Spectacular! Stunning service, great rooms, yummy food, great staff… honestly, makes one a proud Jordanian in front of guests and visitors. What a great place! Wouldn’t recommend any other hotel in Petra. They celebrated and sang happy birthday for my partner and gave us cake for free!

Moey Shawash — Google review

The most luxurious and beautiful hotel. We got a suite and the stay was just amazing! The dinner at the roof top cafe was great! Mixed grill was the best! The distance to enter Petra was very short. The staff was very well mannered and helpful and always smiling

The hotel is perfectly located for getting into the ancient site of Petra, menaing we could get in before the crowds and get into our shower within minutes of the end of a long day's sightseeing. Good rooms, pleasant pool, however the food was not as good as its price implied it would be. The buffet had plenty of choice but still succeeded in being a bit bland.

The team at the front office is exceptional. We were delighted by the assistance of a gentleman wearing glasses who not only accommodated our request for a late check-out but also provided us with comprehensive information about Petra, greatly enhancing our travel plans. The room we stayed in was not only impeccably clean but also quite spacious, ensuring a comfortable stay. Additionally, we would like to express our gratitude for the exceptional food service provided.

Located right beside the ticket entrance to the Petra national park, and across the street from the Petra Museum. My room was comfortable though it didn’t have an open view. The buffet breakfast and dinner were excellent, with a wide range of appealing dishes. The hotel doesn’t provide bar soap, so I had to buy a bar from a shop in the hotel, at a fairly exorbitant price. For a visit to Petra, this would be your best choice.

This is a wonderful and strategically placed hotel. So why the three stars, you may ask. Well in just a few words, we were there in January and the room was cold. Not only that, there was no way of heating the room with the air conditioning that was just recycling the room's air. In the end they gave us a dilapidated portable heater that probably had been found there during one of the archaeological excavations of Petra. Our friends were in a similar situation but were given a more moder appliance. Also the food at the restaurant was nothing to write home about (the buffet one, we didn't try the other one). A pity really, the rooms are very nice, the place is clean, and the staff is very courteous and available. But if you're putting up a 5 star placard at the entrance you need to do more. On a final note, it was the most expensive 5 star hotel we stayed at in Jordan, even when compared to hotels in Amman or the Dead sea. Tut tut.

Very nice hotel, great location directly across from Petra visitor center. Rooms were large with comfortable beds and very nice bathrooms. Buffet meals (breakfast & dinner) were outstanding, did not have lunch there. Happy hour with free unique deserts everyday are a must attend. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. On site parking at the hotel with in-hotel shops and ice cream parlor.

The hotel is in a very good location, short walk from entrace of the city , nice restaurants, small bars and the main tourist sites. The rooms are clean. The reason for 5 stars is the staff. We had interactions with 3 of the guys on the front desk and each of them were delightful, especially with our little 2-year-old. The breakfast ladies were all also very pleasant and accommodating, even on a busy morning. A big thank you to all the staff at this hotel

We stayed at Movenpick Petra in September 2022 while traveling in Jordan. The night we stayed happened to be our five year wedding anniversary, which my husband mentioned to the staff prior to our arrival while discussing our room type. When we arrived, they had arranged a beautiful surprise in our room with roses and folded hearts and swans. The staff were so kind and helpful, the hotel was stunningly beautiful, and the location (right across the street from the Petra visitor’s entrance) was perfect. The dinner and breakfast buffets were also incredible — we loved the focus on the local cuisine, though they had an enormous spread and many choices. I was absolutely floored at the hospitality and how they went above and beyond to make our anniversary special. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay while visiting Petra.

For those that rate this a 5* hotel, have never stayed in one. This is like a nice upscale Best Western. Great location across from Petra entrance. Nice shops next door to pick up sundries/eat. Clean rooms with hard floor (no carpet), bedding is mostly comfortable but no ‘heavenly bed’. It’s a very popular tourist hotel so quite chaotic between 0800 and 0830. Staff is efficient, but frantic- especially so at breakfast where they get in the way. I dislike breakfast buffets, but that is included and all that is available. And espresso is machine only. :(Pool is outdoors- no jacuzzi. And you can’t use the spa steam room or sauna without a treatment - when I went down there, no one was around so never had accessBar is good, but the servers are too busy or don’t care as they basically ignored us most times. Bar tender was great- but had to go to the bar to get drinks. Full bar so after a long day of hiking and climbing 900 steps a good gin and tonic was a great comfort. All in all a good place to sleep and visit Petra, nice and clean but not luxurious and service is spotty

What a pleasant stay it was in Moevenpick Petra! Location, staff and service is one of the best I encountered! We even had a case of dehydration and the manager himself called the doctor, brought orange juice and check in person that all was with us!The service we received was better than what someone will get at home 😊🥰🥰🥰Thanks and c u soon!

You can’t beat the location of this hotel right opposite the main entrance to Petra. Beside the location it is also a very beautiful hotel with great service. The atrium in the center of the hotel is an attraction on its own. The food and buffet is nice and the selection of food and drinks as well. The roof top terrace at sunset is very beautiful as well.

From the moment we stepped into the hotel, the hospitality was nothing short of regal. Nestled conveniently at the entrance to the lost city of Petra, this hotel is a gem for travelers seeking a comfortable base for their explorations. Our visit was marked by a lunch experience that left us in awe. Each dish was a testament to culinary mastery, tantalizing our taste buds to the point of wanting more despite being comfortably full. The desserts were not just food, but works of art - both visually stunning and delectably satisfying. In summary, this hotel is a perfect blend of ideal location, exceptional service, and culinary excellence. It's a haven for food lovers and a comfortable retreat for adventurers. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Petra!

Great location, beautiful hotel the breakfast buffet was splendid, staff was super helpful. We could just hear the cars at night on the street a little much (if you have trouble sleeping). The swimming pool is outdoor and not heated in case you come during the winter months. The entrance is beautiful all decorated with traditional features and furniture. Location is ideal literally in front of the entrance to Petra.

Marie-Hélène Pora — Google review

One of the most magnificent hotels I have seen; everything was perfect. The staff were extremely attentive, the buffet was delicious, and the atmosphere was very warm. The location is also perfect for anyone visiting Petra.I highly recommend it!

Very nice hotel and literally outside of the entrance to the Petra site. The room was small but nicely appointed and comfortable. The food at the bar/restaurant was not very good. The breakfast buffet was below par compared to the other similar level hotels we stayed at while we were in Jordan.

Michael L — Google review

It’s such a unique hotel due to its facilities architecture and design that also reflects Petra. We love its ideal location right after the tiring Petra day hike. Thank you for all the helpful staff who assisted us during our stay. We will definitely come back here and will surely recommend this hotel.

Great location, 5 min walk to entrance of Petra! Rooms were nice and clean, good breakfast selections. Front desk staff were very friendly and welcoming. Service at the pool area is challenging though.

This is a luxurious hotel in Jordan. This would be considered luxurious if it was in Jerusalem or Paris. We loved it. We wish we stayed for at least another day or two to enjoy the hotel even more than our one day excursion. The food is delicious, the service is excellent and the rooms were comfy and clean. In fact, our whole party talked about the incredible comfort of the beds and pillows. I miss being there.

This hotel is beautiful. I love this hotel. It’s literally across the street from the entrance to Petra. The staff is so helpful, great attention to detail. The lounges are stunning, the rooms are comfortable and clean. I highly recommend this hotel

To be completely honest, our day started really badly when we were duped into paying an exorbitant amount for a “local guide” to Petra. When we came to the hotel for happy hour, though, our moods were instantly lifted upon meeting Mary Ann from the Philippines. She was incredibly warm and welcoming. It’s amazing how a little bit of genuine kindness can go a long way. The wonderful service and location next to Petra make Movenpick a solid choice!

Minh Hoang — Google review

Spacious clean rooms in a fantastic location on the doorstep to enter Petra. Complimentary chocolate hour 4-5 and happy hour 4-6. Unfortunately the gym was closed for our visit but pool open. The breakfast was decent and the same restaurant does a buffet dinner which is pretty good. We did try and book their fine dining restaurant but was told it was closed for both nights although we saw people eating in there the second night! Service was mixed with some very helpful staff but others less so. One staff told us to go to the ticket office to get Petra by Night tickets whilst another said he will have someone go over to get our tickets for us.

Ankit Patel — Google review

We stayed for several nights and couldn’t have chosen a better hotel. Location, staff and facilities were excellent. One of the best buffet breakfasts we have ever had! Would recommend.
