She was a homemaker and member of First Christian Church in Highland, Ind. Survivors include her husband, Edward L. Edmondson; two daughters, Barbara Stephens of OIney and Linda Louise Blakely of Portland, two stepdaughters, Myra Kopplin of Garland, Texas, and Peggy Madron of Midland, Texas; a son Harold O.

Sunday at St. Elizabeth Hospital. Born Dec. 7, 1911, in Emison, he was the son of Fred J. and Minnie (Roach) Townsley.

Tow nsley earned a bachelor's degree in 1933 and a master's degree in 1934 in electrical engineering from Purdue University. In 1932, he began working part-time at the university's radio station, WBAA, and following graduation that became his career. He as named chief engineer of the station in 1941, took a leave of absence in 1943 to serve as an officer in the Army Signal Corps during World War II, then returned as chief engineer in 1948, retiring in 1982. He was licensed as a registered professional electrical engineer in 1948 and was a member of the Professional Engineers Society. Survivors include his wife, Clemence J.

"Sally" (Calin) Townsley, whom he married Oct. 13, 1946. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Soller-Baker Funeral Home-West Lafayette Chapel, with the Rev. Philip Emerson officiating.

Complaints At 4:27 p.m. Saturday, Suzanna Brummett reported to city police that her husband and child were walking in the Griffith Elementary School area when they were chased by a pit bull which knocked her son over. Brummett said the dog was now back in its home. Police said they had received a previous complaint about the same dog and would be in contact with animal control.

At 5:47 p.m. Sunday, city police received a report of a peaco*ck running loose near the Fourth Street Diner on Northeast Fourth Street. Animal control officers said that because the bird could fly, they were unable to catch it. Sunday, after police received a call from an employee of CSX Railroad who reported a man was passed out in the CSX office building, 25 N.W. 1 1 th St. Traylor was charged with public intoxication. He is being held at the Daviess County Security Center on $7,500 bond. Tracey Miles, 27, was arrested Sunday on a writ of attachment from Pike County and a warrant charging him with failure to appear from Monroe County.

Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Bunker Hill General Baptist Church. Finley Rigsby Troutman WASHINGTON Finley Rigsby Troutman. 84, 332 Knollwood Drive, died at 6:45 p.m. Sunday at the Eastgate Manor Nursing Center.

Born Jan. 16, 1914, in Pikeville, he was the son of Calvin and Amy (Rigsby) Troutman. He had been a master ordnance mechanic at the Naval Surface Warfare Center in Crane. A Navy veteran of World War II, he was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, the Elks and Moose lodges, the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Disabled American Veterans. He was a past master of the Odon Masonic Lodge, a past worthy patron of the Odon Eastern Star Chapter, and a member of the Scottish Rite bodies of Evansville, Hadi Shrine Temple in Evansville, and the Daviess County Shrine Club.

He was a graduate of Sale Creek (Tenn.) High School and attended Vincennes University. Survivors include his wife, Jennie (Shields) Troutman, whom he married Aug. 14, 1959; a son, Phillip Troutman of Gatlinburg, three stepdaughters, Betty Whitmer of Franklin, Phyllis Houghton of Boca Raton, and Patricia Thompson of Washington; two sisters, Juanita Flick of Loogootee and Jerri Hars-ford of Edge water, a brother, Ronald Troutman of New Smyrna Beach, a grandson, 10 stepgrandchildren and 18 stepgreat-grandchil-dren. Thomas Robert Niehaus WASHINGTON Thomas Robert Niehaus, 54, Rt. 4, died at 10:50 a.m. Friday at the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington, following an automobile accident. Born Nov.

5, 1945, he was the son of Amil and Agnes (Rasche) Niehaus. Niehaus had been an engineer at the Naval Surface Warfare Center at Crane for 35 years. A 1961 graduate of Ferdinand High School, he earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering in 1969 from the University of Evansville and was a Navy veteran and member of First Christian Church. Survivors include his wife, Patsy (Russell) Niehaus, whom he married March 10, 1990; his father of St. Meinrad; a daughter, Rhonda Niehaus of West Lafayette; two sons, Geoff Niehaus of Houston, and Rick Means of Olutus, four sisters, Cindy Verkamp of Celestine, Brenda Beck of Louisville, Ruth Stallman of Washington and Rita Lovell of Dale; five brothers, Jim Niehaus and Lee Niehaus of St.

24, 1922, in Vincennes, she was the daughter of John M. and Stella (Forbes) Gillaspy. A graduate of Martinsville High School, Dixon attended Vincennes University and graduated from the Indiana University School of Nursing. She lived much of her life in Columbus, Ohio, before marrying John Dixon of London in 1971 and moving to England. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Gayle Spearman of Hudson, and Jan Nevard of Clearwater, a son, Steven Snell of Ventura, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

see DEATHS, Page A8 Jerry Palmer INDIANAPOLIS Jerry Palmer, 42, Indianapolis, died Sunday at his home. Born March 6, 1955, in Vincennes, he was the son of Jerald and Violet (Banta) Palmer. A former resident of Phoenix, Palmer had worked there for Rehab Without Walls. He attended Unity of Phoenix Church and was a member of P.A.W.S. (Preserve Arizona Wolves).

He was currently studying occupational therapy at Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis. Survivors include his wife, Kim (Kizer) Palmer; his mother of Vincennes; and a sister, Emma Johnson of Galveston, Texas. A memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the First Church of God in Vincennes. There will be no visitation.

Summitt Harner WASHINGTON Rose M. Summitt Harner, 83, Washington, died at 8:18 p.m. Saturday at Eastgate Manor Nursing Center. Born March 3, 1914, in Greene County, she was the daughter of Clarence and Mary (Franklin) Riggle. She attended Daviess County schools, retired from the U.S.

Rubber Co. and was a member of First Christian Church. Her husband, George Summitt, whom she married in 1931, died in 1960. Survivors include two daughters, Shirley Mae Burton and Georgia Lou Fitzgerald of Washington; a brother, Larry Riggle of Bloomfield; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Two grandchildren are deceased.

Elsie L. McCann Elsie L. McCann, 82, 111 Meadowlark Lane, died at 8:07 p.m. Saturday at Good Samaritan Hospital. Born June 1, 1915, in East Orange, N.J., she was the daughter of Abraham and Gertrude (McGaw) Jenkins.

McCann moved to Vincennes in 1987. Previously she had been a dietitian and cook at Newark (N.J.) Nose and Throat Hospital, and ran a boarding house, then retired as a telephone operator in Point Pleasant, N.J. Survivors include her husband, Nicholas McCann, whom she married April 8, 1943; three daughters, Patricia Sweeney and Linda G. Dreiman, both of Monroe City, and Karen Bloe-baum of Vincennes; five sons, John McCann and Thomas McCann, both of Toms Rivers, N.J., Leonard McCann of Lakewood, N.J., Peter B. McCann of Howell, N.J., and Brian McCann of died at 6:03 a.m.

Cannon was a homemaker and former telephone operator. A member of the Old Cathedral Catholic Church and its Altar Society, she was a life member of the Harmony Society Auxiliary, a former member of Old Northwest a retired member of Psi Iota Xi Sorority, and was active in the Pink Ladies auxiliary at Good Samaritan Hospital. She was a 1938 graduate of St. Rose Academy. Her husband, Donald E.

Cannon died in 1990. Survivors include two sons, Stephen E. Cannon and Richard J. Cannon, both of Vincennes; a daughter, Cathy Cannon Hird of Fairview, three sisters, Margaret Daniels of Indianapolis, and Dorothy Shaw and Betty Ostendorf, both of Vincennes; nine grandchildren and a greatgrandchild. Dunham, 70, 12 N. 13th was charged at 12:18 a.m. Sunday with driving while intoxicated. Her blood-alcohol content registered 0.17 percent on a breath test. She was released from jail on $500 bond.

Other arrest Jeffrey A. Cox, 31, Niblack Apartments, was booked into jail at 11:25 p.m. Saturday on two warrants issued from Porter County, charging him with failure to appear in court. He was transported to Porter County by officials from there. Hill, Dunham, Spradling, Powell and High are scheduled to appear March 3 in Superior Court II.

Newbold, 20, of 2005 Ray St. was arrested at 1 1:40 a.m. CST Sunday by the Lawrence County Sheriff's Department on charges of criminal damage to property totaling more than $300 and criminal trespass.
